Overview
DataScrub ("we", "our", "us") is an Excel add-in for cleaning spreadsheet data. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
Data Processing
DataScrub processes all spreadsheet data locally on your computer, within Microsoft Excel. Your spreadsheet data is never uploaded to our servers or any third-party service. We do not have access to your files or data.
Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum information necessary to operate the licensing system:
- License key: The key you enter to activate the software.
- Device identifier: A hashed hardware fingerprint used to bind your license to one device. This is a one-way hash and cannot be used to identify your computer's specific hardware.
- Machine name: Your computer's name, shown to you in the license dialog so you can identify which device is activated.
When you purchase a license, the following is stored by our payment processor and licensing system:
- Email address
- Name (if provided)
- Order/receipt number
- License key and activation status
How We Use Your Information
- To verify your license is valid and active
- To enforce the one-device-per-license policy
- To send you license keys and renewal reminders
- To provide customer support
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase: Hosts our licensing database and verification API. Supabase Privacy Policy
- Stripe: Processes payments. We do not store your credit card information. Stripe Privacy Policy
Data Retention
We retain your licensing information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you request deletion of your data, we will remove it within 30 days.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Deactivate your license and remove your device from our system at any time via the add-in
Cookies
This website does not use cookies or tracking scripts.
Children's Privacy
DataScrub is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
